Policy Changes for Moving the Class On-Line
- Class Meetings
- I plan to hold class meetings as normal. This might change, but I want to give it a try.
- I will use this classroom for our class.
- I expect you will probably
- Listen/watch the demo
- Minimize the zoom window
- Pop up the excel window
- Try the problem.
- ASK QUESTIONS, this means you, I won't be able to see your faces and I can not tell if it works for you or not...
- We might try some screen sharing if required.
- I will try to record the live sessions.
- If this does not work, I will go to pre-recorded sessions.
- Office Hours
- My office hours are
- MWF 9:00 to 10:00 AM
- TR 2:00 t0 3:00 PM
- I will be "in" or monitoring my virtual office during these times.
- I am happy to meet with you outside of these times, but I will not be monitoring the zoom meeting.
- Please contact me and we will arrange a meeting time or email.
- On-Line Office
- Be patient, I am not sure that I will notice when you come in the "room".
- Also, Zoom kicks a meeting off after 45 minutes of inactivity.
- If I don't get to you quickly, please send an email.
- Tests
- These will be moved on-line.
- They will be timed.
- I will mail the class with the URL for the test at the beginning of the test.
- You will submit the test via dropbox
- They will be at the "normal" class meeting time.
- I will take into account that you probably only have one monitor.
- The course has two scheduled tests.
- The first test will be Thursday March 26.
- The second test is scheduled for April 21.
- Homework
- Homework three is now due March 26.
- I will give a few more homework assignments.
- Project
- I forgot about the proposal presentation, we will just drop that. Everyone gets credit for that portion.
- A progress report
- This is tentatively due Apr 2. I think I will let that stand
- It seems reasonable for you to have done some real summaries
- You have a presentation due that day.
- Let's give this a try virtually.
- Build a 5 minute presentation
- Discuss your data and what you are planning to do
- Include any intermediate results.
- Please email me a powerpoint slide show by that morning.
- I will, in turn allow each of you to "share" your screen to give this presentation.
- Final Presentations
- We will do final presentations on 4/23 and 4/30.
- I plan to use the same format as above, but we might need to change that depending on how the test session works.
- You will have 15 minutes for your presentations.
- We will finalize details later.
