Presentation Standards
All presentations for this course should:
- Be presented using presentation software (PowerPoint)
- Slides should follow standards for good presentation
- Minimize text on slides.
- No paragraphs
- Probably fewer than 50 words per slide.
- Limit the number of different transitions.
- Contain a consistent look and feel.
- Use color well.
- Use a limited number of well chosen fonts.
- In addition
- Image sources should be noted if not your own.
- Sources should be cited and a bibliography included at the end when appropriate.
- Make sure charts/graphs are well done
- This includes labels, titles, ...
- Removing unneeded items (axis labels for a single item axis ...)
- The ENTIRE chart/graph can be seen when projected
- Make the fonts large
- If you need to, put the chart on a separate slide.
- All presentations should include a slide containing
- The presenter/presenters
- Title
- Assignment identification
- "Reading" slides is not appropriate.
- Your slides should support the presentation, not be the presentation.
