In order to be granted a petition, you must have scored an average of 65% on ALL tests in the class including the final exam. Any student who is granted a petition for an extension but fails to achieve an overall (weighted) test average of 65% will have their petition rejected.
The incomplete will allow me additional time to assign grades. Such grades are typically due some time during the fourth week of the next semester. I anticipate this to be 2/5, but that date is set by administration.
If you petition for and are granted this incomplete you will have this time to complete and resubmit all homework assignments for this class. You must resubmit all assignments, regardless of previous submission status.
I expect the following:
In addition, I will create one further assignment, which is here. This assignment must also be completed according to the above expectations.
If you complete all assignments to expectations, I will assign a grade of C-, which is sufficient for degree completion. Otherwise, you will receive the grade you have earned as of the end of the semester.
The terms of this offer are not open to discussion or amendment. Failure to complete any portion of the offer will result in assignment of the original grade.
If you wish to petition for the extension, you must provide a written document stating that:
Any student who is granted a petition for extension but achieves a C- or better in the class will have the petition rejected and will receive the grade assigned the end of the semester. You don't need to do the extra work if you pass the class, and if you pass the class there is no need for an extension. If you are boarderline, you may petition for an extension just in case.
