Covid Related Fall 2021

I will post announcements related to change in normal operation due to COVID-19 here.

These are my plans and current policies, as with everything else related to the pandemic, these are subject to change.

• In the classroom:
  • Until we are told not to, please use your mask.
  • If you are worried about attending in person, please let me know and I will use zoom so you can attend remotely.
• If you become sick or are forced to quarantine:
  • Please let me know.
  • I will try to use zoom to allow remote access.
    • I am fairly sure that this will be available.
    • I am a little worried about remembering, but we can work something out.
  • If you are really sick, ie unable to attend classes via zoom, I will try if I remember to record the classes via zoom.
• If I become sick or am forced to quarantine:
  • If it is moderate, I will hold classes via zoom.
  • If it is severe the department will attempt to arrange coverage.
• If the campus needs to restrict access:
  • Classes:
    • If it becomes necessary, I will use Zoom to hold class sessions.
    • I will continue to use my web pages as my primary form of communications
    • I will communicate via email.
    • I will add notices to the individual course pages as applicable.
  • Office Hours
    • If it becomes necessary Office Hours will move to zoom as well.
    • I will be "in" or monitoring my virtual office during these times.
    • I am happy to meet with you outside of these times, but I will not be monitoring the zoom meeting.
      • Please contact me and we will arrange a meeting time, email or phone.
  • I plan to hold my office hours during the regularly scheduled times. I will try to be available on email, zoom and on the phone.
  • My intention is to use my physical campus office regardless of status, but that may change.
• Incomplete Policy
  • I will be very liberal when extending incomplete grades this semester.
  • If any of the following conditions apply I will consider incomplete
    • You become ill.
    • You experience trauma and need extra time to adjust.
    • You do not have access to technology needed to complete the semester.
    • Other reasonable issues.
  • If you wish to discuss an incomplete, please arrange a meeting.
