Data Science Objectives

When you finish this course you should be able to:

1. correctly employ spreadsheet functions to solve problems.
2. employ spreadsheets to analyze data sets and identify missing or inconsistent information.
3. transform data sets into a form useful for further analysis.
4. employ pivot tables and pivot charts to analyze datasets.
5. employ spreadsheets to produce meaningful and well annotated graphs and charts during both exploratory and final data analysis.
6. find, evaluate, and employ additional spreadsheet packages (add-ins) to solve a given task.
7. import data from various sources including direct interaction with database management systems.
8. build simple interfaces in spreadsheet a spreadsheet scripting language.
9. research and apply new spreadsheet functions, tools, scripting language elements, and algorithms needed to solve a given task.
