Labs/Homework

We will be using the Meyer book for lab assignments, plus I will suppliment this with additional homework assignments. All of these assignments will require you to use a computer, and some may involve sugnificant amounts of time.

Due Dates and Submissions

Please remember, it is best to turn your homework in when it is due. If you can not complete your homework on time, second best is to turn it in late. It is completely unacceptable to fail to turn homework in. Please note that homework that is late may be assessed a penalty and in any case, homework more than two weeks late will not be accepted.

Homework will be posted here, and should be considered assigned when it is discussed in class. It is due at the beginning of class two weeks after it has been assigned.

Homework should be turned in to the instructor at the beginning of class, or during office hours. If you are unable to do this, please place it in my mail box in the main office. DO NOT slide your homework under my door. The only paper on the floor in my office is trash, and I throw that away.

If you wish, you may submit homework electronically. Send your homework to dbennett@edinboro.edu, make sure that your subject line includes an indication of what it is. I will reply to your message with comments and a score, so make sure that you can receive mail where you send your work.

In some cases, electronic submission is required. If the assigment states that you must email your homework, then you should do this.

Neatness Counts

ll homework must be presented in a professional manner. Essay type questions must be typed, diagrams should be produced using drawing software.

Proper identifying information is required for all homework. Each homework should include your name, class, and information about which homework it is. Each problem should include a problem number, or possibly a copy of the problem statement/question.

I reserve the right to deduct points for sloppy work.

A Note on Computers and Software

It is common for computers to break, for software to be poorly documented and harder to use than you originaly anticipated. It might even be necessairy for you to learn new software to complete an assignment. None of these problems are sufficient justification for late assignment submissions. You should complete your assignments as soon as possible to avoid any of these problems.

If, in the course of working on an assignment, you encounter problems with a computer, software or anything else, I encourage you to seek assistance.
