1. [1 point] In the first paragraph, make the text "President of the United States." bold.

2. [1 point] Change the alignment of the first paragraph to be justified.

3. [1 point] In the paragraph on Abraham Lincoln, make "Our American Cousin" italic.

4. [2 points] Add a second paragraph to Gerald Ford's entry.

   • Text:

     President Ford was a humble man. Once he commented "I had a lot of experience with people smarter than I am." On another occasion he quipped:

     I had pro offers from the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, who were pretty hard up for linemen in those days. If I had gone into professional football the name Jerry Ford might have been a household word today.

   • [5 points] Format the second quote just inserted as a long quotation. Indent both the left and the right margins by 0.5 inches.

5. [2 points] Make all text in the document double spaced.

6. [3 points] Add a footnote to "said Coolidge.", the last words in the paragraph about Calvin Coolidge, which states "Calvin Coolidge was known as Silent Cal".
   • Example:

7. [5 points] Create a title page. This should be a single page which includes:
   • The Title: "Presidential Anecdotes"
   • Author: Please use your name.
   • Today's Date
   • The Phrase: "Test 2, CSCI 104, Fall 2014"
   • Example:
   • This page should contain no footers or headers.

8. [3 points] Each section about a president begins with a line containing the president's name, and the dates in office.
   • Make these section headings as in the example.
   • These headings will need to be listed in a table of contents.
   • Format these headings with a uniform scheme.
   • Example:

9. [5 points] Table of Contents
   • Make a table of contents on a new page, immediately following the title page.
   • Include an entry for each president discussed.

10. [5 points] Insert this picture in the first paragraph of the first page of the text.

    

    1. Center the picture in the paragraph.
    2. Caption the picture with "Figure 1: Presidents of the US".
    3. The text should wrap around both the image and the label.

    4. Example:

11. [5 points] Table of Figures
    1. On a new page immediately following the table of contents insert a table of figures.
    2. The table should contain a proper heading.
    3. The table of figures should appear in the table of contents.
    4. The table of figures should be the only item on the page.

12. [2 points] Insert a book citation into the citation index.
    • Author: Boller, Paul F.
    • Title: Presidential Anecdotes
    • Year 1996
    • City: New York
    • Publisher: Oxford University Press

13. [2 points] Use this new entry to reference Paul F. Boller in the first paragraph.

14. [5 points] On a new page at the end of the document insert a bibliography.
    • Use the MLA style for this bibliography.
    • This bibliography should appear in the table of contents.

15. [8 points] Page Numbers
    • All reference tables (table of contents and table of figures) should be at the beginning of the text, numbered with lower case roman numerals (i, ii, iii, ...) in the center of the bottom of the page. Start at page iv.
    • Example:
    • All text pages, with the exception of the first, should be numbered with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...) starting at 1, in the lower left hand corner of the page. Start at page 1
    • The page number should be Page #.
    • Example:
    • The title page should not be numbered.
    • The bibliography pages should be numbed in the upper right hand corner of the page.
    • The bibliography pages should be numbered A, B, ...
    • Example:
16. [5 points] Page Headings
    • The headings on the first page of the text should contain "Presidential Anecdotes" on the left hand side and your name on the right hand side.
    • Example:
    • The headings on the remainder of the text should contain your name, centered on the page
    • Example:

17. Make sure that all tables updated to represent the current state of the document.

18. Save your final document.
