The maze is marked in two colors. Standard black electrical tape is used to mark the paths within the maze and blue electrical tape is used to mark the walls of the maze.
The start location is marked with 4" of green electrical tape along the path while the finish location is marked with a series of 4" green electrical tape segments perpendicular to the path. The green markings are placed over the path markings.
The edge of the board is marked with red electrical tape. Any walls co-linear with the edge of the board are inset, so that the red tape is on the outside edge of the board and the blue lines are inset by the width of the red tape.
The following three images illustrate a sample competition. The grid-lines are for reference only and are not be present in the actual maze. Grid lines are on 6" center. The final grid is then 8x16.
The start and finish points may be marked at any location on the course board.
The maze may contain loops.
