- The complement of a set A, symbolzed by A', is the set of all elements in the universal set, not in A.
- The intersection of two sets, A and B, written (A ∩ B) is the set of all elements in both set A and set B.
- The union of two sets, A and B, written (A ∪ B) is the set of all element in either set A or set B or both.
- n(A∪B) = n(A) +n(B) - n(A∩B);
- The difference of two sets A and B, written A-B is the set of all elements of A, that are not elements of B.
