• A line crossing two other lines at different points is called a transversal
• When parallel lines are cut by a transversal:
  • The angles between the lines on opposite sides of the transversal are called alternate interior angles
  • The angles outside of the lines on opposite sides of the transversal are called alternate exterior angles
  • The angles on the same side of the transversal, one inside and one outside of the parallel lines are called corresponding angles
  • Alternate interior, alternate exterior and corresponding angles are equal.
