Finish 9.1
- if m< A + m<B = 90° then <A and <B are complementary angles
- if m< A + m<B = 180° then <A and <B are supplementary angles
- When two straight lines intersect, the nonadjacent angles formed are called vertical angles.
- The measure of vertical angles are equal. (Argue this)
- parallel lines are lines which do not intersect.
- A line crossing two other lines at different points is called a transversal
- When parallel lines are cut by a transversal:
- The angles between the lines on opposite sides of the transversal are called alternate interior angles
- The angles outside of the lines on opposite sides of the transversal are called alternate exterior angles
- The angles on the same side of the transversal, one inside and one outside of the parallel lines are called corresponding angles
- Alternate interior, alternate exterior and corresponding angles are equal.
