• Find a recent news story (in the last year) which involves a significant amount of data analysis.
  • List the source and provide a reference to the story.
  • Summarize the article.
  • Summarize, to the best of your ability based on the article
    • What was the source of the raw data.
    • How much raw data was analyzed
    • What techniques were used to analyze this data
    • What important discoveries resulted from this analysis.
  • Include at least one impactful visualization of the data.
    • Describe what the visualization is showing.
    • Describe why you believe that this visualization is impactful.
  • Possible sources include
    • A data analysis heavy source like FiveThirtyEight.com
      • Almost anything on this site will work well.
      • If you want to cheat, here is a easy to use article.
    • A science related news feed like ACM TechNews
      • You will need to look at the different articles, but there are usually a few each week that will work for this assignment.
