Homework 3: Starting a Report

The goals of this homework are:

• Demonstrate your ability to use document level formatting in word.
• Demonstrate your ability to build a table of contents in word.
• Demonstrate your ability to use the citation manager in word.

Overview

Your goal for this homework is to create a proposal document for someone wishing to work on a project using this data.

Instructions

• A working draft of the paper is here
  • Download this and save it somewhere you can find it.
• Markup
  • Appropriately mark the title, and headings.
  • "Introduction", "The Data", "Data Acquisition and Formatting", "Data Dictionary" "Sample of the Dataset", and "Future Work" are all primary headings.
  • On the first page, "Overview" and "Summary Information" are sub headings of "The Data".
  • Lists should be marked as List Paragraph
  • All other text should be marked as normal.
• Change the document style set to be Black and White (classic)
• Change the document so that all normal text is double spaced.
  • This changes the spacing in the lists, so modify the List Paragraph style so that lists are single spaced.
  • 
• Between the title and the text insert a table of contents.
• Citations:
  • Add a citation to the second sentence in the introduction:

  • Add a arrow pointing to the word Database.
  • Group this arrow and the picture so they are a single object.
  • In the next picture, circle the word Pro and the date 2018 with a shape.
  • Group this collection into a single object as well.
