It contains a resonable discussion of the DES standard. The big point of the paper is that algorihtms can be improved and machines become faster, so don't rely on algorithm speed for security. \par This is fairly easy to read paper. The math in section two requires some effort, but the results are good. The analysis should be required reading for anyone dong cryptography.
