This course introduces the structure and organization of modern computers. Topics include digital logic, sequential and combinational circuits, assembly language programming, basic machine organization, data representation, memory organization, fundamentals of input and output, and introduction to parallel architectures.
Prerequisite: CSCI 230 (Principles of Programming II).
