Computers for CSCI 311

We have set aside two computers for CSCI 311 in the project room. These computers will have linux installations on them, and the installation media will be available in case there is a need to re install these computers.

Please observe the following rules, violation of which will be considered violation of the honor code and could result in student dicipline.

To not attempt to gain access to any other computer through these computers.
Do not attempt to connect these computers to the network.
- The network card has been disabled in the BIOS and you should not attempt to re enable it.
- Do not add additional network cards to these computers.
Do not change the root password on these computers.
- The password should be set to csci311 and should not be changed.
- If you do change the password accidental, change it back.
Do not edit /etc/sudoers by hand
- use visudo if you must.
- Don't mess with other users accounts in this file, especially bennett.
Do not mess with other users accounts.
- Add as many accounts as you wish if you want to play with thing.
- But please do not change other students user accounts.
Do not place any materials on these computers that is not public
- Use a different password from your normal password.
- Don't place any useful files on the systems.
If you break the computers
- Don't panic, get some help (Prof. Bennett, Mr. Loveland)
- Restore it if you wish
- At least let someone know so that it can be fixed. (Prof. Bennett)
