  • When a file is opened for output
    • If it does not exist, it is created
    • If it did exist, it is truncated to size 0
• All standard operations work, getline, get, put to, get from, ...
• stream.close()
  • Closes the file, flush the buffer, ...
  • You should do this when you are done with a file.
• Standard text files can be created with your editor.
