• Mail consists of two programs and a file

      • Called User agents
    • The file is your mail box. Just a file.
  • The user agent I suggest you use is pine

Pine

• From The University of Washington
• Their own license agreement. (But it is free)
• This is a very user friendly program
  • Very interactive
  • Always seems to give choices

Using Pine

• Start it with the command pine
• To send a message, press (or highlight) C
• Fill in the fields
• If you want to send a program file, fill in the attachment line
• Make sure that you include a message. Identify
  • Yourself.
  • The class you are in.
  • What you are submitting.
