An Exercise in Formatting Reports.
- Start by downloading and saving this document to your work space
- Right click on the link.
- Select save as and save the document.
- Open the document in word.
- Insert an appealing cover page
- The document title should be "Tiddlywinks, A Wikipedia Article"
- Mark yourself as the author
- Fill in or delete other fields in the title page.
- Format the entire document with:
- Double line spacing
- 12 point text.
- Times New Roman Font.
- Change the heading 1 style to be
- 15 point font, Time New Roman, and the default color.
- Change the heading 2 style to be
- 14 point font, Time New Roman, and the default color.
- Mark the following
- Tiddlywinks: heading 1
- Rules: heading 1
- National and International Organizations: Heading 1 (fix case)
- Competitive Play: Heading 1 (fix case)
- Skill Versus Strategy, and Comparable Games : Heading 1 (fix case)
- Equipment: heading 1
- Terminology: Heading 1
- History: Heading 1
- Nineteenth Century: Heading 2 (fix case)
- 1950s: Heading 2
- 1960s: Heading 2
- 1970s: Heading 2
- Twenty-First Century: Heading 2
- Go to the beginning of the document (before Tiddlywinks) and insert an appealing table of contents.
- Fix the heading of the Table of Contents to match the rest of the document.
- Make the actual document begin on the page after the table of contents.
- Insert a page number at the top right hand corner of the document.
- Go to the beginning of the document,
- Mark the first word of the first paragraph (Tiddlywinks) for inclusion in the index, all pages.
- This probably marked the occurrence of tiddlywinks on the title page, so delete the mark on the title page. (Show/Hide button is helpful here)
- Do the same for wniks
- Do the same for pot
- Mark "squidgers" with for inclusion as well, mark it as a cross reference to winks.

- Go to the Terminology section and place all terms in a bulited list.
- Make the term to be defined bold.
- Make this section single spaced.

- At the beginning of page 2 are three wikipedia citations. Insert the following citations
- Find the first occurrence of the word colours and add a foot note stating "Sometimes known as colors".
- [1] should become: Struble, Lillie, "Letter to the Editor", Library Journal, 15 April 1970, page 790, an article in a periodical.
- [2] should become: Mackay, James A., "Childhood Antiques", Page 76 A book published in 1976 from Taplinger Publishing Co, York, England.
- At the end of the document and insert an bibliography on a new page.
- This should be in Chicago style.

- After the bib, insert an index on a new page.
- Add the heading Index to this page and mark it so it shows up in the table of contents.
- Rebuild the table of contents to include the index and the bib.
- Save your document.
- It should look something like
