Fall 2014, Credit By Examination Information

• A competency test for CSCI104 is available for those that already have the skills covered by this class. The student must not have taken CSCI104 or this test before. Having passed this test, the paying student will receive 3 credits for the class. Credits received this way do not count towards the course load for any semester.
• The test for fall 2014 is scheduled for:
  • Thursday, Aug 28 at 7:30 to 9:30 , Must schedule by Wed Aug 27 at 8 pm.
  • Friday Aug 29 3:00 to 4:50, Must schedule by Friday at 10 am.
  Arrangements must be made with Dr. Tim Meyer (tsmeyer@edinboro.edu).

• An overview of the process is as follows:
  1. Obtain Competency test form and CSCI104 Competency test information sheet from the Math/CS office in 109 Ross. Forms are also available on line.
  2. Complete the form. Including three signatures: adviser, Dept chair of Math /CS, Bursar (after having paid the fee...~ $75)
  3. Present the completed form to the instructor at the time of the competency exam.
  4. Drop / add classes by date specified by the University. (Consider adding now, it is easier to drop later)

• Automatic construction of a table of contents
• Automatic generation of a bibliography
• Use of absolute, relative and mixed cell references
• Use of functions such as pmt
• Use of decision functions such as if, vlookup
