One Note Practical Test

• For this portion of the test, you may use
  • Books
  • Notes
  • On line resources.
• You may not directly communicate with others
  • No phones
  • No talking
  • No on-line chatting or email conversations.
• When you have completed this test, or time has expired
  • Export the document as a PDF file and email this to your instructor as an attachment.
  • Print a copy of this PDF file, turn this into the instructor.
  • Email a copy of this PDF file to your instructor as an attachment.
  • Failure to perform the last two steps may result in a score of 0 for this section of the test.
• Complete as much of the test as you can.
  • You must finish, including printing and emailing by the end of the class period.
  • If you can not complete a portion, just go on to the next.

Instructions

1. (5 points) Start OneNote 2013 and create a new notebook.
   • This notebook should be named firstname_lastname-test1
   • My notebook would be Dan_Bennett-test1
   • This notebook should be stored on your "S:" drive.
   • You may not use OneNote 2010 for this test.
   • You may not use OneNote Online for this test.
2. (4 points) Name the default section Test Instructions yourname
   • My section is called Test Instructions Bennett
3. (2 points) Name the default page in the Test Instructions section Last Minute Check
4. (1 point) Put your name as a note at the top of this page.
5. (4 points) Add a note with the following list of things to do
   • Finish test
   • Export Notebook as a PDF file
   • Print the PDF file
   • Email the PDF file as an attachment to the instructor.
6. (2 points) Mark each of the four above items with a to do tag.
7. (2 points) Mark the last two items (Print the PDF file and Email the PDF file) with the important tag.
8. (3 points) Add a note to the right of your checklist that contains the following
   • The test is over at d:50 (select the correct time for your class: 8:50, 1:50 or 5:50)
   • All work must be completed at this time
9. (3 points) Add a bulleted list to the note you just created, this list should contain
   • Exported the PDF
   • Emailed PDF to instructor
   • Printed the PDF
10. (2 points) Tag the items of the bulleted list with the Remember for later tag.

    

11. (5 points) Below the Test Tasks note, add a link to the test webpage.
    • The text should be The test is here
    • The address should be http://dbennett.cs.edinboro.edu/hide
12. (5 points) Place a small screenshot of the fist two of the test instructions next to the link.
13. (5 points) Using the drawing tool, circle the web link and draw an arrow to the instructions screen shot.

    

14. (3 points) Create a subpage to the Last Minute Check page called Searching For Tags
15. (1 point) Put your name as a note at the top of this page.
16. (4 points) On this subpage, insert a note which describes how to locate all tagged items.
    • This should be a very clear explanation of how to locate tagged items.
    • It should include a discussion of elements of the OneNote interface.
17. (3 points) Place a note to the right of the last note which describes how to navigate to a tag which you have located using your procedure.
18. (4 points) Find all tags in your document, include a picture in this page of the notebook to show that this has been accomplished.

    Note: the previous step might not be accomplished in an obvious manner.

19. (2 point) You have finished the test, mark the Finish the test to do item as accomplished (check it off)
20. (5 points) Save the notebook as a PDF file.
21. (5 points) Print the PDF file to the printer in the lab.
22. (5 points) Email the PDF file as an attachment to your instructor.
