Logging on in Hamilton Hall

• Determine if the machine is on.
  • Is the led on the monitor on? If not, turn the monitor on.
  • Wiggle the mouse, press a key on the keyboard or some other form of input.
  • If the machine does not respond, it is not turned on.
  • Push the power button on the CPU.
  • Make sure the monitor is turned on.
  • The machine will begin to boot, these machines are older and may take some time to complete this task.

• Press the keys Ctl Alt and Del all at the same time.

• Your Username
  • Your username is in the form f######l where
    • f is your first initial
    • ###### are the last six digets of your banner id
    • l is your last initial
    • For Example:

      User: Dan Bennett,   Banner ID    12345678
      Username:       d345678b
      	    

  • This is your username for Math/CS accounts
  • This is also your username for Edinboro University accounts
• Your password
  • Your initial password is of the form mmddyy where
    • mm are the digits for the month you were born
    • dd are the digits for the day you were born
    • yy are the last two digits for the year in which you were born
    • For example:

      Birthday:   01 July 1982
      Password:   070182
      

• You actually have two accounts here. (Possibly more)
  • Your username will not change
  • Your passwords can be out of sync. (Change one and not the other, or change them to be different things)
  • The account you log into is determined by the Domain that you choose.
    • CSLAB is the Math and CS account
    • EUP is the University account
  • You should use your CSLAB account for this class.
• So our example login screen should look like this:
• You can use the Tab Key to move between fields in this window.
• When you type your password, the letters will not appear, only a * for each letter you type.
• When you have everything correct, press OK
• If you make a mistake, you will see
• 
• Dismiss the window, and try again.
