- In a table, you can add a total row
- Table Tools tab, Table Style Optionswork group click Total Row
- You can now add a number of functions at the bottom of the table.
- Note, that these functions apply to the visible data.
- So if you filter the data, the functions apply to the filtered data.
- You can also convert a table back to a "normal" worksheet.
- Table Tools tab, Tools work group click Convert to Range
- This will clear any filters applied
- The total row will update.
- And the table will be removed.
- If you build a table again, the total row will be flaky.
- Sorting Data in without a table.
- If you have a range of data to sort, the Data tab Sort & Filter group has a Sort tab.
- If you highlight the column headings you even get drop down tabs for sorting.
- you can sort on multiple levels.
- Sort on mfr then on sodium for example.
- The filter button on the same tab gives similar options.
- Conditional formatting (4.5)
- Can help with data analysis.
- And possibly presentation.
- This is on the Home tab in the styles group.
- Select a range
- There are many choices on what to emphasize.
- There is even the possibility to create your won rule.
