All work is due when listed. All homework from
the previous week is due at the beginning of the first class period of the week.
For example, when we begin word, we will cover the first chapter in a week.
You will be expected to complete the Lab first, and present it
to me in class. This must be done by the Monday/Tuesday class of the next week.
Furthermore, the other Projects for this chapter must be in my mailbox by
class time on Monday/Tuesday. Late work will not be accepted. Please turn in
your projects as you complete them.
Description of Components:
- Labs:
Each chapter in the book has a multiple stage Lab exercise.
These labs include step by step instructions on how to perform
the tasks discussed in the chapter that will be needed to complete
the projects at the end of that chapter.
A lab will be 70 to 80 pages long, and include
instructions, illustrations, and other instructional material.
- Hands-On Exercises:
I will assign two to three problems from the end of each chapter
for you to complete. Please make sure that you follow all
instructions, both in the assignment statement and in the exercise.
These exercises have simple instructions on what to do, but no
information on how to do them. Do not attempt these exercise
until you have completed the lab for the chapter.
- Projects:
I will assign one to four projects for each software package. Please
make sure that you follow all instructions for these projects.
These projects will have only general guidelines on what needs to
be done. Use this opportunity to demonstrate that you have learned
the material from the chapter. Poorly done or incomplete projects
will have points deducted.
