Introduction
Ledger Book - think of Bob Cratchit , or a bill of sale.
Entries are made when things are purchased
Totals are calculated from these entries
We can set things up so that the machine does the totals for us.
And so much more.
A spreadsheet is arranged in Rows and Columns
Columns go up and down (Hold up the roof on the Parthenon)
Rows go from left to right (row your boat)
Columns are labeled with letters
Rows are labeled with numbers
A cell is a point where a row and column intersect, and are labeled
with a letter and a number.
Into these cells we can put:
Constants - values that do not change automatically
formulas - calculations
Instead of an insertion point, we have the "Active Cell"
