In this class we will examine the theory and techniques of algorithm analysis. We will study historical algorithms along with some algorithm development techniques. We will develop techniques to decide which algorithm is most efficient in a given situation. In addition we will have a basic discussion of what makes and algorithm "hard" and what makes a problem impossible to compute.
This class meets MWF 12:00 to 12:50 in Ross 136.
