Short Description:

Goals

  • vulnerabilities of an asset.
  • specific threats that might exploit these vulnerabilities.
  • specific controls that will mitigate these threats.
• Worked with at least one other member of the class to complete this work.

Formal Description

You may assume that your grade is accurately calculated and is determined fairly by the professor using the rules put forth in the syllabus.

1. Identify at least three vulnerabilities that may impact your grade in this class. Remember a vulnerability is a weakness in your habits, preparation, or in the course process that could lead to poor performance.
   • Be careful here, you are looking for weaknesses as they relate to your grade.
   • You might be tempted to say "I don't study enough", but I believe that this is a threat to the weakness is "I don't know the material needed to pass a test". This, I believe, moves the problem from you to a part of the grading structure that can be threatened.
2. For each vulnerability
   • Identify a threat that could realistically exploit it.
   • Identify if the threat impacts confidentiality, integrity, availability or some other aspect of your grade. (This is somewhat strange as it is not an electronic asset, but give it a go)
   • Identify a control you could use to prevent, detect, or reduce the impact of that threat.
3. Explain how each control mitigates each threat.

1. Your answers should be realistic and consistent with the syllabus.
2. This is a group work assignment. You are required to work with one or two other students in this class as you complete this assignment.
3. Your final document should include the names of your group members.
4. If you use an AI, you should also credit this in your final document.
   • I fully encourage you to first solve this problem then use an AI to improve your solution.
